Gusevskoy Crystal Factory is the leading Russian producer of crystal and cut glass. Established in 1756, the factory has a long and distinguished history of manufacturing high-quality crystal--Gusevskoy Crystal has made drinking sets for the Imperial Romanov family, as well as made medical ampoules, thermoses, and bowls for combustible mixtures during World War II. The factory, located about 160km from Moscow in the Vladimir Region, has won many international awards for its highly decorative works. At the Moscow factory outlet near Red Square, customers can buy the full range of products, including ornate vases and decanters, stemmed vodka glasses, statuettes, and crystal eggs with inset icons. Coloured glass is the factory specialty.
