Dr. Mark Kauffman, the president of the Whitehall liquor company and an academician of the International Academy of Viticulture and Winemaking, was one of Moscow's first major wine importers, and certainly the first to introduce New World vintages to Russia. He also produces a luxury line of vodkas that are recognized as some of the finest available. His three Moscow stores are world-class luxury wine merchants with prices to match. The selection includes wines for the genuine connoisseur: wines from 30 of the best regions and two top Burgundy merchant houses; the most famous wines of the Rhone and the Alsace; the best wines of Italy, Spain and Germany, and wines from Chile, Argentina and California. Experts hold lectures and seminars for sommeliers and store consultants so that they are knowledgeable about the selection and can best advise customers. VIP members can also participate in seminars and tastings.
