• BRIEF DESCRIPTION |
Known until recently as the English Bookshop, this historic bookseller's on Kuznetskiy Most, a short walk from Red Square, has recently been taken over by Moscow's biggest bookstore. Nonetheless, it continues to stock the same range of foreign literature (mostly English-language), including language learning materials, fiction, and a huge selection of guide books. An extremely elegant shop that dates back to 1901, the "House of the Foreign Book" is probably the easiest place for foreign visitors to pick up guidebooks, history, and maps of Moscow in English, as well as translations of classic Russian literature and glossy artbooks, although prices are generally pretty high.
