Shanti does a lot of things: hosts art exhibitions, holds concerts, has a tearoom, boasts a trendy but cozy interior, serves excellent Pan-Asian and International cuisine in its restaurant, and serves what have been called the best sandwiches in Moscow in its more democratically priced cafe. Among the treats on the menu are freshly squeezed juice cocktails, Indian curries, Tom Yum soup, steak with foie gras and slices of baked papaya garnish, roast duck salad with lemongrass, and wild Madagascan prawns.
